Black Friday!!!

So today was Stephen's first Black Friday experience. I was really wanting to buy a treadmill and had gone to Sears earlier this week to figure out which one I wanted and how much it would be. The sales guy told me the price that it would be today. I was so excited! I was getting a great deal. Well our plan was to get up about 6 and head to Fayette to Sears to make the purchase and then come home. Easy enough. So about 3:00 this morning, I woke up and could not go back to sleep. I had been dreaming all night that they ran out of treadmills. So I laid there awhile and finally Stephen woke up. He could not go back to sleep either. So I suggested we just get up and head to the store. I said "Why don't we just go to Columbus cause the crowds wont be that bad this early". Wrong!!! We get to Sears and it is packed and to top it off the treadmill was priced that same as earlier this week. The online price was the same too. I was mad! So we got back in the car and drove (really quickly) back to Alabama and went to the Sears in Fayette. I got my treadmill and for the price I wanted. How two different Sears can have two different prices, I will never know. Stephen said, "While we are out, lets just go to Walmart!". Wrong again!! Oh my word, at the people! We bought a carpet cleaner that my husband has been longing for. I got some plates that I have been eyeing on the Christmas aisle. We were approaching the extremely long check out line when this sweet man came and told us they were checking people out in electronics and there was no line. I have never seen Stephen move so fast! We checked out in less than 5 minutes and were back out in the car as the sun was coming up. We must have lost our minds. Don't know why we did this. Stephen looked at me on the way home and said "Well I can certainly say that my life has been alot more interesting since I married you!" Ha ha oh well! Got to keep him on his toes! So proud of him for making it through his first Black Friday experience in Walmart and handling it like a champ! Truly impressed. Now he is cleaning carpet and I think I am about to crash and take a nap! Night night!!

My receipt for my treadmill. It does not come in until Wednesday so I was sad cause I really wanted to walk off some of the turkey and dressing that I ate yesterday!

Thanksgiving

We spent this year in West Point with the May's. Then we headed home to put up the tree and all of our Christmas decorations. It was so nice to actually have room to put things out this year and to have a mantle to hang our stockings on. Ill post picture of the tree later this weekend. Hope everyone had a great thanksgiving!

Taste of the Holidays

So I have this list, not like a bucket list but similar. I call it my old lady list. It is a list of things that typically old ladies really well that I would like to accomplish. On it is thing like bake cakes from scratch (done). Learn to make my grandmothers biscuits! (done--and quite tasty too). Make a good Sunday roast (still working on that one). Have a recipe published in a church cookbook.....Now I can check that one off! We had an event at our church called Taste of the Holidays. Many ladies in the church submitted recipes and a cookbook was put together. Then everyone made their dishes and we all got together and tasted each dish. It was so nice and I was so glad that my mom and mom-in-law got to go with me. It was a nice time of fellowship! The first picture is me with my dish. I submitted one of the Richards family traditions (Green Chili Cheese Rice). Next year, I am going to submit a Pourciau recipe. Still trying to decide which one though but I have a whole year to think about it. Hey grandmothers--- I think you need to come next year!

We moved....

Sad to say goodbye to our old house. We will miss this house. It will soon be remodeled and some rooms added on so I wanted to get a picture in front of it before there were any changes. We will be the last couple to live in it as a 2 bedroom house...sad :(. We are still unpacking and getting settled but I will post pictures of the new house probably when I get the Christmas decorations up next week.

We are Moving...

In case you have not heard, we are moving to another rent house. This is something we have been looking and praying for for awhile now. We are moving for several reasons, and are so excited to have a bigger place (with more than one bathroom!!!) So if I don't blog for awhile that is why. We currently getting the house ready and will make the official move next week. So please keep us in your prayers as we have alot going on. I am trying to work as much as possible and Stephen has several projects and a big test next week. Pray for time management and efficiency as we will be busy busy this next week. Ill post pictures of us working hard and the finished product in a few weeks. My goal is to get everything settled enough to put up our Christmas tree at the end of the month. Ha ha! Nothing makes the holidays even crazier like a move but thats just how we do things. Check back in a couple weeks for some updates.
