My G'momma

This is my G'momma (was originally grandmommma but we decided she was too cool for that and needed a more "street" name so it was shortened to G'momma). She recently retired from Woman's Hospital in Baton Rouge, La. She started working there as a nurse on the Labor and Delivery floor. She later became an Administrative Supervisor. Here are a few things her co-workers had to say about her:

Peggy is a wonderful lady who gives freely of her time and talents. She is an asset to the hospital and a pleasure to work with.

Peggy has an extremely pleasant attitude and has a wonderful gift of knowing something personal about everyone, and will graciously inquire about things when she sees you.

Peggy’s professional manner sets a great example for all of Woman’s Hospital staff.

What a great legacy she is leaving in the nursing world. I know she was a big influence on many young nurses, including myself. I really look up to her and her experience and knowledge of the field. G'momma, I am so proud to call you my grandmother and also my fellow nurse. I love you! Happy Retirement! Now we need to pack our bags for another trip!

Welcome Baby

Made this cake this weekend, too. Its for a church wide baby shower that they are having today at church for our worship leader's wife, Ellen. She is the cutest pregnant lady ever! The design was based on the invitations. This cake was huge!! The biggest one I have ever made by myself. Wish I had taken one with the cake so you could get a better idea. It took 7 batches of butter cream! I think I might have finally gotten all of the powered sugar out of the kitchen. Headed to deliver this now and go to church. Happy Sunday!

Happy Birthday Carson!

So its Carson's birthday again! This year was a pirate theme! Leslie and I have been talking about this cake for several months. Cookie Mama made some super cute pirate cookies that matched perfectly! Last year he had a shark theme. Click here to see last years cake. Im already excited to do his little brother's cake in December.
Carson, I hope you had a great party yesterday! Cant wait to see the pictures!

My Latest Big Girl Purchase

I have a habit that when I get an idea in my head, I run with it! I want to do and I want to do it now! My husband just loves this (sarcasm noted). Earlier this week, I decided I want to get a freezer. I have been working ALOT! And when I get home, I have not been wanting to cook which leads to cereal, popcorn, or takeout. And takeout is VERY limited where we live. It's either subway, pizza hut, or a couple local places that are only open a few days a week. I thought about a cook book that my mom has used several times called Once a Month Cooking. It is how we made it when she was in school. I immediately called Tara and told her she needed to do it too so we could make a weekend of it and cook for our families together to make the work easier. So, my sweet sweet hubby took me on a date yesterday to go freezer shopping. You know you are not a newly wed anymore when you go freezer shopping as your date. Ha ha! We found exactly what I wanted and even got it on sale!! We went back today to pick it up after church and my wonderful brother in-law helped Stephen get it in place this afternoon. Thanks, Chase!! So now in a few hours we will be able to start filling it up. I think it will def be used this week with my cake orders. Thanks Stephen for putting up with me and my crazy ideas! I love you!

(By the way, if this note does not make any sense that is because I am currently on Benadryl for my wonderful adult onset allergies. Unfortunately I can now add the new Sobe water to my list of foods that I can not longer have.)

Mexico

Here are a few of my favorite pictures from my trip. I have given up on getting each day posted. I have included the links to my facebook albums with all the many many photos that we took. It was a great trip. I love how your world just looks so different when you come back from a mission trip. I definitely had some culture shock when I went back to work on Monday. We had 3 medical teams and saw about 175 patients a day. Unfortunately I got sick the last day and missed the last clinic at MITC. I have fully recovered now, Praise Him! We have had a busy week. I had alot to do at work to catch up from being gone for a week. All caught up now. I got some good news Friday at work that means my stress is about to be alot less but I will keep the same salary so that is another big praise! I love when God answers prayers in ways you did not even see as a possibility. I think that will catch you up for now. Check back later this week. I am doing two cakes this week that I am excited about. Ill post pictures of those as soon as I finish them.
