This week

We have been busy busy with life this week. Nothing worth blogging about. I have worked like crazy. We have gotten the grill out a couple times this week. Trying to soak up the nice spring weather before the next batch of snow comes this week (boooo....sick of snow). We have watched alot of the Olympics and learned about sports we never knew existed. Glad I now have Stephen addicted to them too. We are watching the hockey finals now and yelling "USA" even though we have no idea how this game works. Friday night we had date night at home. We made dinner together and watched our latest Netflix movie, The Good Shepard. Im still not really sure what that movie was about. It was so long too! Oh well, it is ready to put back in the mail tomorrow. Saturday we went to Tuscaloosa to help Jim and Tara shop for their new home. I picked up some new scrubs and tennis shoes. I hate hate hate shopping for scrubs. I think they are over priced and every brand fits so differently. You have to try everything on. Im such a bargain hunter, I have to find a good deal before I will spend money on them. We also went to Newks for the first time. My mom is obsessed with their chocolate cake so I got a piece for the table. Mistake!!! After I took one bite, I didnt want to share the rest. It was perfect and gave us a sugar rush that helped us finish our shopping day. I sent this picture to mom after we finished the cake to show how upset I was that it was all gone. So sad. Dont worry Newks! We will be back SOON!

Happy Birthday Mama Deb

We celebrated my mom-inlaw's birthday last weekend too. We had dinner at our house and of course presents. Since we have made many cakes together in the last year, I decided to make a birthday cheese cake for her instead. She loves cheesecake and she loves red velvet cake so when I found this recipe I knew it was perfect. Click here for the recipe. It was sooooo good and soooo easy. I was really glad I sent the leftovers home with them because I would have finished it off for breakfast the next morning. We will def have this again.

Squirrel Hunting Cake

Made this for my cousin's husband. He has recently gotten into squirrel hunting. He and his dad have birthdays close together so their family celebrated all together last weekend. Happy Birthday Brent and Pepe!

Our weekend

The Blakes moved into their new house and the Crisis Pregnancy Center also moved this weekend so we had a busy weekend helping them get settled. I also baked a couple cakes for my friend Amanda. We made cakes for her sons last year which were our first birthday cakes to make. To see them click here. Mason wanted a Ben 10 cake with Humungasor on it. Amanda just ordered a cookie cake for Adam. See pics below:

This was already wrapped up and I forgot to get a picture before I wrapped it and did not want to fight that plastic wrap again for a picture.
We also went to a Daytona 500 party yesterday at the Sikorski's. We had a blast but I was totally lost and probably drove everyone crazy with my questions! She had everything decorated for the race and it looked so cute. Here is a pic of Tara and me posing in front of a driver (no idea who) to show our confusion.
Im off today for Presidents Day. Stephen had school so I have spend the morning doing loads and loads of laundry and scrubbing my bathroom and kitchen and fun stuff like that. Think I might actually take a shower and put on real clothes sometime soon. Well maybe...
