Happy Halloween

Had a little fun on Picnik.com to edit a picture from last month. Enjoy!
Sorry I have been such a bad blogger lately. I recently found out I am going to be working in a new county for the next few months. I have been busy trying to get everything settled in my old county and get to know the new patients VERY quickly since our inspectors are supposed to come next week. Today I have been PRODUCTIVE! Here is a list of what I got accomplished before 4:00 pm today:
1. Awakened to XM radio calling my cell phone AGAIN to tell me that the account that I don't have is about to expire! Stop calling me!!!!
2. Hit up a friend's garage sale and got several cute things for a really good deal
3. Quick grocery run
4. Baked 9 (Yes NINE!) cakes! I have several upcoming cake orders so I tried to get most of them baked today and in the freezer.
5. Worked on a couple secret projects for baby Ruby and her shower. Managed to get glitter all over the house. Oops!
6. Did one load of laundry
7. Cleaned the kitchen several times
8. Wrapped a gift for Ruby
9. Loved on my hubby who is feeling sick today. He is so pitiful. Hope he feels better for Trunk-n-Treat tomorrow!
10. Repaired the draw string on a pair of scrub pants
11. Talked to Mom
12. Texted a variety of people
13. Showered to remove the layers of glitter that attached to me.
14. Crashed in the recliner to recover

I still really need to clean out my car and check all my medical supplies to make sure they are up to date. But I think I have been productive enough. It will have to wait until Monday. We are going to be busy tomorrow with church and preparing for trunk-n-treat. Ill try to get some pictures. Check back next week to see how it went.

Katie McCrary

Stephen and I went and had a photo session done with Katie McCrary yesterday. We never got around to getting engagement photos made and then we did not get but just a couple of the two of us at our wedding. I decided that I really wanted to have some of just the two of us to represent this time of our marriage. To see the two that Katie "leaked" last night, click here. They are great! Cannot wait to see the rest of them.

Happy Saturday!

Christmas Shopping

So Mrs. Debbie and I ran to Birmingham yesterday to get some Christmas shopping done. Think we came home with more for ourselves than anyone else. Oh well, we still have plenty of time, right?
Our first stop of Whole Foods! This was both our first Whole Foods experience. We LOVED it! Good thing my mother inlaw finds it so enjoyable to walk around a grocery story just like I do. We spent a whole hour just walking up and down the rows. We could have stayed much longer but new we had more shopping to do. We will be going back for sure!

They had the prettiest mums and pumpkins! I wanted to bring them all home!

I snapped a few pictures when I was in the bakery for inspiration. I love these pumpkin cupcakes!
Owls:
Look who finally got the iPad she has been dreaming and talking about for months!
And yes we did eat at Chuy's again. Don't worry, I had a slimfast and apple for lunch today to make up for it. Good thing I do not live any closer to this place or I would have a serious problem!

Date Night

(We tried to get a cute picture with the pumpkin we have on our door. We tried 3 times. This was the best we got)
So Stephen took me on a date Saturday night. We were totally disgusted by the bama game so we quit watching and went out instead. We went to eat at Huck's. So good. (But I have to say that my cheese grits taste better). I would love their chicken on the bayou with my grits :). Then we went to the movies to see Life As We Know It. It was so funny! Great movie for us. Not too much chick flick but just enough. Yes, I did cry a couple times. Good night with my sweetie! Thanks babe for taking me! Love you!

Dora Cake

Made this Dora the Explorer cake for Annslee today. She turned three this week. They are having her party tomorrow afternoon. Happy birthday, Annslee! Hope you have a great party!
To see her cake from last year, click here. The colors were brighter in person. I did not take the time I should have to get some better pictures.

We are watching the Bama game now. Hope this team shows up soon and decides to play. Its the second quarter now. Hope it picks up soon. I need to get ready anyway. I have a hot date with my sweetie tonight. He's taking me to dinner and the movies. We have not gone a date since our anniversary back in June! Think its time! Ill try to snap some pictures.

Random iPhone photos

Looking through my iphone photos today I found these that I meant to share. Stephen and I went to play tennis again last week. I was off last Friday and Stephen didn't have class so we headed to the park. I was awful! Then after like an hour, I just refused to try unless Stephen hit it directly to me! Ha ha! I would rather ride bikes or walk.
This is for Morgan. These were her shorts that she bought when she took tennis one semester at LC. How I have them, I don't know. But this is exactly why I never get rid of clothes.
My dad rode 102 miles last Saturday in a ride through east Texas! I know! That is crazy!! Stephen asked him why he did it and he said I just wanted to ride 100 miles and be able to say I have done it. Good grief! My backside hurts just thinking about riding that far! So proud of you Dad!
For you Louisiana peps! Stephen has graduated from medium roast to between roast! And to think he could hardly drink our coffee when he first met me! Now he usually drinks it at least twice a day!

Happy Fall Day

This is just a random middle of the week post. Today was the first day that it was cold enough to bust out the long sleeve shirts to wear under my scrub tops. I also decided to wear my one Halloween top. I think I wore it once last year. I found if for $4 a couple years ago after the season. I like my Winnie the Pooh top. Happy chilly weather day!
Tonight, we ran to Columbus after work to get a couple things I need for a cake I'm making this weekend. We met the inlaws for supper. They were also making a Walmart run. We decided to go to Peppers tonight and that was totally fine with me. I could get the California club AND run next door to Reed's to get the shoes I have been longing for for the last few days. You see, we went to dinner with my cousin, Leslie, Friday night and she had these on. I LOVED them! Well, Saturday, I told Stephen I had made a decision (He just really loves when I do this-NOT). I told him I wanted the shoes and I might like them as a birthday present but only if I could go ahead and have them now. He is was all for it. I loves when I pick out my own gifts. So anyway, I ran in Reeds tonight and picked these up. I love them! I will be living in them this winter. If you haven't heard about Tom's shoes and their story click here to see what its all about.
Busy day at work tomorrow (but that is good!). Later this week, I may go to the pumpkin patch with Stacy and Hunter and take some pictures of him. Hope to get some good ones and maybe pick up some pumpkins and mums for the house. Also, Ill post a picture this weekend of the cake once it is finished. Happy Tuesday!

Crimson Cream Cheese Cookies

(photo from The Messie Kitchen)
Okay well these are really red velvet cookies but I made them for their crimson color to take to the game yesterday. Found several recipes online. Here is the one that I mainly followed. I will be making these again and very soon. I think they will be great for Christmas time. The cream cheese icing was a little thin for me so I added more powdered sugar and then let it chill over night before I piped it on the cookies.

Bama Vs. Florida

We got to go to the Bama/Florida game yesterday. Oh my word! The game was awesome! My voice is still gone from all of the yelling! I screamed like crazy! We went early to tailgate and enjoy all the festivities:
Tara's dad, Greg, flew into town for the game.

Getting ready to chow down on our good tailgate food: hot dogs (extra burnt just like we like them), pasta salad, chips, veggies and dip, fruit, red velvet cookies with cream cheese buttercream (ill share this recipe next so check back).

The Blakes: Baby Ruby was kicking Tara like crazy while we were there. Think she will definitely be a Bama fan!

Our griller:
Headed to Walk of Champions! This was my first time to see this. We all lined up and all of the coaches and players walked through on their way to the locker room. I was literally 10 feet from all of the player and someone else. Who was it?! Oh yeah, that guy my family just loves, Coach Saban! I did not get a picture because we were packed in tight, and I was fighting not having a panic attack in that crowd. Ha ha!

Waiting for the game to start:

We had just finished off some Dreamland nachos! Oh I love these thing! So good! Stephen always fusses about how much they cost but I just share with him so soon his mouth is full of nacho goodness and I cannot hear his complaints :)
It was a great day! Really long though! I'm still so tired! Bama played a GREAT game! We were so proud. Ready for next weeks game! Thanks Blakes for letting us go with y'all! We had a great time!

Cookie Cake

Made this cookie cake early yesterday morning before we left for the ballgame. This was for a co-worker. Enjoy!

Found a pictures of the first time I piped words on a cake. It was in our cake decorating class. Was actually on Mrs. Debbie's cake. I'm still not totally happy with my writing on a cake but was surprised to see how far it has come. Check this out:

The Newlywed Game

If you have never seen The Newlywed Game, the host asks the husband questions about the wife while she is not in the room, then she has to come back and answer the same questions. We will see if we have the same answers!

1. She’s sitting in front of the TV, what is on the screen
Hubby: Reality t.v
Wifey: Sad but true. I am a reality tv junkie! And if it is reality and involves cooking or baking, I like it even more!

2. You’re out to eat, what kind of dressing does she get on her salad?
Hubby: Fat free ranch, or wine and cheese dressing
Wifey: I love you for being so observant! Yes! Both are right!

3. What’s one food she doesn’t like?
Hubby: Water chestnuts!
Wifey: Right! I hate them! GAG!!!!

4. You go out to eat and have a drink, what does she order?
Hubby: Diet Coke
Wifey: Diet coke or water

5. What’s her favorite type of sandwich?
Hubby: Turkey club
Wifey: Hmmm hard one. I do not like sandwiches at home. Weird, I know. I do like burgers if that counts or the turkey club from Peppers.

6. What would she eat everyday if she could?
Hubby: Greek food of some sort
Wifey: I do like Mediterranean food! But I don't know. Too hard to choose. Probably ice cream!

7. What is her favorite cereal?
Hubby: Frosted mini wheats
Wifey: Cinnamon toast crunch is prob my favorite but the adult in me has Frosted Mini wheats. Its better for my thighs!

8. What would she never wear?
Hubby: An Auburn shirt
Wifey: haha! Good answer! Pretty sure this is right too!

9. What is her favorite sports team?
Hubby: Crimson Tide/LSU
Wifey: YES! So ready to tailgate tomorrow too!!

10. What is her heritage?
Hubby: French
Wifey: Correct! Bon jour! (no idea if that is spelled correctly)

11. You bake her a cake, what kind of cake?
Hubby: I don't bake
Wifey: But you can order one with the best of them! And chocolate with peanut butter would be my preference

12. What could she spend hours doing?
Hubby: Blog stalking
Wifey: I do have a problem with many hours spent blog stalking as Stephen calls it

13. Did she play sports in high school?
Hubby: No, she was the eye candy on the bench
Wifey: Haha! I wish!! Thank goodness I went to a high school were sports were not that popular. We did not even have a football team! Go Magnet!!Woohoo!

14. What is the unique talent that she has?
Hubby: Anything she puts her mind to, she masters!
Wifey: Awww! Thats sweet! yeah I do not like being able to do something once I set my mind to it.

15. What is her type of coffee?
Hubby: Community, 1 sweet-n-low, french vanilla creamer
Wifey: Can you tell who fixes my coffee everyday? Im a lucky girl!
