Jenna's Birthday Cake

We made this cake this weekend for Jenna. She asked for hot pink and zebra stripes. I think she was happy with it. I hope you have a wonderful birthday, Jenna!

Happy Anniversary to Us!

I cannot believe that it has been TWO years since this picture was taken. We are just a few hours from our second anniversary! We have had an adventure and have learned so much about each other. I can honestly say that I would not trade it for anything. I cannot wait to see where the next year takes us. On to year 3! What is in store for us now? I love you, baby! Happy Anniversary! Cant wait to celebrate tomorrow!

The Melting Pot

We went to The Melting Pot last weekend in Birmingham. It was an experience. I had always wanted to go try it. It was not Stephen's favorite place but he put up with it for me (Thanks, babe)

This was the first course, which was cheese fondue with bread and veggies and apples to dip in it.

The main course was a platter full of several types of meats. We also had several kinds of veggies to cook too. We loved the shrimp! Yummy!

The dessert was the best!!! From now on I will just go get dessert! We inhaled the platter of goodies they brought out for us to dip in the chocolate. It was so good. We were trying to figure out how to get more stuff so that we could finish off the chocolate.

Summertime

So tonight after supper Stephen and I went out to sit on the swing and share some fresh watermelon. It was the first watermelon of the summer! There is nothing like it. And, the million bugs left us alone just long enough to enjoy it. I told him we will have to do this at least once a week for the rest of summer.

Luau Birthday Cakes

Made these cakes for two little girls who are cousins. They are having a joint birthday party tomorrow and it is going to be a luau. Emma's mom gave me two napkins and asked for an idea for the cake. I looked on cakecentral.com forever and did a few sketches. This is very similar to one we saw online. I hope the girls like them. I think they came out really cute. We also crushed up graham crackers (a.k.a. sand) for them to sprinkle around the boards once they get to the party to add to the beach theme.
