Thanksgiving

We spent this year in West Point with the May's. Then we headed home to put up the tree and all of our Christmas decorations. It was so nice to actually have room to put things out this year and to have a mantle to hang our stockings on. Ill post picture of the tree later this weekend. Hope everyone had a great thanksgiving!

Taste of the Holidays

So I have this list, not like a bucket list but similar. I call it my old lady list. It is a list of things that typically old ladies really well that I would like to accomplish. On it is thing like bake cakes from scratch (done). Learn to make my grandmothers biscuits! (done--and quite tasty too). Make a good Sunday roast (still working on that one). Have a recipe published in a church cookbook.....Now I can check that one off! We had an event at our church called Taste of the Holidays. Many ladies in the church submitted recipes and a cookbook was put together. Then everyone made their dishes and we all got together and tasted each dish. It was so nice and I was so glad that my mom and mom-in-law got to go with me. It was a nice time of fellowship! The first picture is me with my dish. I submitted one of the Richards family traditions (Green Chili Cheese Rice). Next year, I am going to submit a Pourciau recipe. Still trying to decide which one though but I have a whole year to think about it. Hey grandmothers--- I think you need to come next year!

We moved....

Sad to say goodbye to our old house. We will miss this house. It will soon be remodeled and some rooms added on so I wanted to get a picture in front of it before there were any changes. We will be the last couple to live in it as a 2 bedroom house...sad :(. We are still unpacking and getting settled but I will post pictures of the new house probably when I get the Christmas decorations up next week.

We are Moving...

In case you have not heard, we are moving to another rent house. This is something we have been looking and praying for for awhile now. We are moving for several reasons, and are so excited to have a bigger place (with more than one bathroom!!!) So if I don't blog for awhile that is why. We currently getting the house ready and will make the official move next week. So please keep us in your prayers as we have alot going on. I am trying to work as much as possible and Stephen has several projects and a big test next week. Pray for time management and efficiency as we will be busy busy this next week. Ill post pictures of us working hard and the finished product in a few weeks. My goal is to get everything settled enough to put up our Christmas tree at the end of the month. Ha ha! Nothing makes the holidays even crazier like a move but thats just how we do things. Check back in a couple weeks for some updates.

Trunk-n-Treat 09

Our "trunk"- we went with a farm theme. The last two years we have based our themes on what we have. We borrowed all our stuff this year from Stephen's parent, grandparents and our front porch.
