THREE YEARS!!!!

Happy Anniversary to us! Cant believe it has been three years! I love being married. It has been the best three years of my life. I can't wait to see what is coming around the next corner. I decided to post my wedding cake this year instead of one of our wedding photos. Mainly because there are not many photos of just the two of us from that day and also because I loved this cake. It was so tasty! I can just taste it now. Moist lemon cake with cream cheese frosting. Yummy! We are heading to Birmingham this weekend to really celebrate. I will try to take plenty of pictures and share them when we get back.

Memphis Day 2

Day 2 was another busy busy day. We started by having a WONDERFUL breakfast at Brother Junipers (where the locals eat :)) I had the dish that Rachel Ray had when she was doing her show, Tasty Travels, in the Memphis area. I must say, it was YUMMO!!!!

Here it is. The San Diegan Open Face Omelet with cheese grits and toast!

Next on the list......GRACELAND: We took the audio tour. If you ever get a chance to go, do it! I was not that excited at first but let me tell you it is well worth the money! I loved it and have been singing Elvis songs since we left!

It was sooooo hot that day. Heat index was 108! I was literally melting in this picture.

Have to brag for a moment. Elvis had the same pattern of china that I have. My grandmother said it was a different brand but I say it looks the same so I can now tell everyone that I have Elvis's china.

Lunch at the diner. I really can't explain what we were discussing here. Sorry but what happens with the grandmothers, stays with the grandmothers. Don't even ask, Mom. Im not going to tell you :)

Next we went to Sun Studio. We did not take the tour. We were worn out from the heat so we just walked around the gift shop and enjoyed the free air conditioning.

After this we went back to the cottage for a nap and watched an Elvis movie, Kissing Cousins (not his best work). Then we went back into town to eat at Panera. I will do my very best to put the last of the pictures up tomorrow.

Day 1

Found a few more from Day 1 that I wanted to share. This one was to show how much we LOVE the people crowding us at the Peabody!

Memphis Day 1

We started day 1 walking around the main square in Collierville. Most of the shops were closed so we did not stay long.

Next we headed to downtown Memphis and went straight to Beale St.

Tried on hats at A. Schwab's

Then went to lunch at Rendezvous! Yummy ribs!

Then we tried (for awhile) to catch the trolley

Finally got a ride and rode the river route

Went to the Civil Right Museum and met Dr. Billy Kyles who was the man standing next to MLK Jr when he was shot.

Then back on the trolley for another ride. This time to the Peabody

We had to watch the ducks. Actually the crowd of people watching the ducks put on a much better show.

We headed to the Young Ave Deli for supper then back to the cottage to crash. Check back later this week to see Day 2 and 3.

Guess what time it is

Pool Time!!! We found out yesterday that Mrs. Kathy's pool was ready. About 25 min later, we were jumping in. No lie! I have never shaved my legs that quickly before! It was heaven!!! She has a new float that I have officially claimed for myself and threatened the boys that if they kill it by using it in some of their trick jumps off of the driving board, I will be VERY unhappy! I could not believe how warm the water is already. We only stayed for a couple hours and then had to come home. Hope to go back soon. I wanted to go today, but Stephen had too much school work to do tonight. Boo! So its just me, the laptop, and the TV. At least I have control of the remote!

But we still had a blast playing tennis today. Amanda Shelton read on my blog a couple months ago that we were thinking about playing some tennis. She had recently bought a racket and decided tennis was not for her so she gave it to me one day. We went to Walmart and picked one up for Stephen and got some tennis balls too. We finally decided to give it a try today. Now, you must understand, I had hours and hours of tennis lessons as a child. Mom is all about learning "lifetime" sports that you can play into your 80s. Unfortunately, those lessons never really stuck. We went down to the park today and started out not doing so well. I remembered how to serve but was not really into running after the ball when Stephen would hit it back. Plus it was sooooo hot out there today. We did get better the longer we stayed out there and I did find the energy to hustle after the ball a few times. We had a ton of fun laughing at each other. Don't worry we are not giving up biking at all! We just wanted to do something active today that did not require loading up the bikes and driving somewhere that was safe to ride. We finished just in time too. It started raining as we pulled back into the driveway.

We decided to have a date night at home tonight and grill some steaks. Stephen did such a good job! They were so tasty! And way cheaper than if we had gone out.

Stephen wanted me to take an "after"shot of his plate. He definitely got his money's worth of that steak!

Memorial Day

My mom had some friends that are trying to adopt a little boy. They have tshirts that they have for sale to raise money for the adoption.
