Guess who is old!?!

Stephen had a birthday yesterday! Happy Birthday, baby! We did not do much celebrating yesterday. We both had to work then I had a doctors appointment. I did make him dinner last night. Chicken and dumplings and sweet and sour green beans. Turned out pretty good. Then after dinner we curled up on the couch and watched Despicable Me. It was funny. The last two movies we have gotten from Netflix have been cartoons. Haha!

Birthday chair covers make me happy!

Yes, I make cakes all the time but Stephen would rather have a big bowl of banana pudding for dessert. So...thats what he got. This was the first time I had ever made it. I even made his mom's recipe because of course that is his favorite. It turned out pretty good. We still have a ton left. Don't know why I made the whole recipe. Should have just made half of it. Oh well, guess we will have some more for lunch today.

We are going to go out tonight and have dinner with his family. This will be their first time to have Japanese. This should be interesting. I will try to get some pictures.

Update

Sorry I have been neglecting my blog. We have been busy! We celebrated New Years with my parents. They came for a visit. It was lots of eating and napping and hanging out. It was pouring rain New Years Eve so we weren't able to do fireworks but that was fine. We were all in bed before midnight. It was a fun relaxing visit.

Can you believe it has snowed again!!???? We got a huge storm Sunday night. We both had snow days Monday and Tuesday. We walked outside Monday morning early and walked around the yard but it was freezing so we didn't stay out there long. It has been so cold that we still have snow and ice. The schools here have been closed all week. It was pretty Monday morning but we are so over the ice now! Ready for it to go! Tired of my carport being iced over every morning and night. This morning it was only 14 when I woke up! Brrrrr!

Other big news is Stephen just started a new job last week. He is working in the engineering dept at a local plant. He loves it so far and is glad to get to use the skills he has been learning in school for last two years.

Our good friends the Blakes welcomed their baby girl into the world on 1/2/11. She is beautiful and perfect! We have enjoyed loving on her and then giving her right back to her mommy when she starts to cry. To see pictures of her check my facebook.

I think that is about it. OHHHH! Wait, there is one more thing!

We are expecting! We found out back in November but have been keeping that little secret to ourselves until last week. I will not be putting any baby updates on this blog due to it being so public. We have started a separate blog for doodlebug. If you like to be added to the list so you can view it just send me an email and I will send you a link. (caseyann_2002@yahoo.com)

Christmas 2010

So we stayed in Alabama this year for Christmas. It has been a great weekend. Very relaxed and lots of hanging out with family. Oh and of course, lots of food! Here are a few pictures from the last couple of days.

Christmas Eve started out with no electricity. It finally came back on and I started baking and making Christmas candy:

Christmas morning at our house:

I can't believe it but we had a WHITE christmas! I snowed until lunch. This was right when it started. Wish I had waited a few more minutes because the ground was covered in snow before I walked back in the house. It was perfect! Its snowing again now. Sitting by the fire and enjoying it through the window.

Sock Monkey Cake

Cade is turning 2! Leslie found a napkin that she wanted to base his cake on this year. I thought it was too cute. We have been talking and planning this one since June! Ha ha! You can never be too prepared. Hope yall have a great party tomorrow! Happy birthday, Cade!

60's/Zebra print

Made this for Olivia this week. The inside was tie dyed. Loved it! Wish I could have seen when they cut into it. Its been the talk of the town since the party. People keep asking how I did it. Olivia designed this cake. She wanted zebra print and peace signs. Hope you had a great party, Olivia! Happy Birthday!

December is here

December is here already! I can't believe it. We went to Wassail Fest last night in downtown Columbus. Enjoyed all the christmas decorations and tried all the wassail that each store was offering. It was so crowded though that you really could not do much shopping.
Today I went to Callie's Sip and See to shower baby John Thomas with gifts. It was fun to go to a shower and the baby be there for us all to pass around and love on. He slept through the whole thing! I made the cake to match the invitation that Brooke designed. I think we make a good team!
After a long nap this afternoon, we are now watching the Auburn/South Caroline game. Wishing they could both lose. Isnt that bad?! Oh well, I just can't pull for Auburn no matter what.
